Status: Rabbit, blessed but also plagued by his foe and rival
Bacch d'Ivy
Dion D'vine is a rabbit of the Old Ways. Already as young, he seemed more
interested in flowers and herbs than in important things, like establishing
himself rank-wise, or acquiring an interest in making more rabbits. He
simply was Different.
Many were his wanderings in idle pursuit of more knowledge. He read many
a book about the green world around him. He spent a large amount of time
becoming one with nature, and wisdom came to him. He learned the secret of
the trees, their glory, and he learned what herbs would cure illness. He
was fascinated by the life-cycle of nature, and absolutely intrigued by
the sweet but complicated nature of the vine.
Following the so well established paths of NPC Curriculum Vitae,
Dion established contact with an old, wise, and of course immensely powerful
druid, also of the lapine flavour. (Ye carnivores, thy thoughts are known.)
Dion learned there about the Path of Vine, and achieved happiness and
everything was just splendid. The rabbit added the suffix "d'Vine" to his
name, and settled down in a valley near Clarion, to follow the Truth for
what would be intended as approximately the rest of his days.
Was he mistaken or what?
Not later than had Dion set up a flourishing vineyard in the valley, worked
hard and seen the first fruit of his green skills and blessings of Lutara,
a fox (Bacch D'Ivy)
moved into the valley, and claimed it to be his. Not only that, the
vulpine condemned the lovely vines and sweet grapes as the spawn of pure
evil, and commenced a battle, fierce and with deadly intention. Dion did of
course defend himself, but could do no more than that, as his basically
peaceful nature forbade him to strike out to hurt, maim or kill. The fight
went on for years, and is at the moment at a stalemate.
Dion is likely to try to get any passing-by adventurers to convince Bacch
that the entire fight is a mistake, and by more, rather than less peaceful
means attempt to put an end to the violent disagreement. The rabbit is
happy to teach anyone who has the time to stay there, the ways of vine, and
Lutara, of course. This can prove especially useful to wandering wine
magicians.
