Status: Resident in the better part of Triskellian,
enthusiastic young lawyer, NPC
Those who don't know him that well would say that Loran is a very, very neat and
proper skunk. Dressing with exquisite taste and with a manner that is both gentile (for
the ladies), and friendly (if needs be), adding a touch of personal finesse, meticulously
observing all the complicated rules of etiquette, acting with a natural grace and elegance.
One could say he was born in a suit, and certainly, suits are his specialty - law suits.
Those who do know Loran well would certainly agree with the enumeration of all the
aforementioned talents of the young skunk, but however, that's not all. They also know that
Loran, though not really being the physical type, is adventurous and has a burning desire
to achieve justice, and he envisions himself as an indoor hero armed with law and a shining pen,
ready to face the danger of sinister prosecutors to defend the poor and helpless...
Well, thinking of it, he also defends the rich and helpless, which is financially a much
sounder concept.
While you might not notice it at first, Loran's claws have been surgically removed during
his childhood. Nowadays, there is not even a scar remaining of this operation, at least not
a visible one. If you ask the skunk about it, he is likely to shrug the question off, and
immediately change the subject to something else, less embarrassing. Though it doesn't hurt
him physically, the social stigma is definitely not something Loran appreciates, being a
no-claw, a soft-paw.
But he struggles on, regardless, fighting vigorously for his justice. Some people say that
he will be one of the great ones, judge and possible even achieving lower noble status during
his life time. Others snort when they hear his name, and mention things like "upstart",
"unorthodox" and other epithets that they attribute to our black and white friend. Their
favourite heckling phrase is based on the theme: "Something stinks about the defendant's
argument", but luckily, Loran does not care at all. His mind and tongue are by far sharper,
and he certainly knows how to use them, acting with skill and intelligence.
So if some great unjustice would befall upon you, or you get into legal trouble with some
noble half-wit, if you discover deceit or embezzlement, or fall victim to unfortunate but
dire circumstances, especially if you are a lady in
distress, seek out Loran. His friendship is worth much, both because of his skills, and
because he has a heart of gold. (figuratively)
