Taryn grew up in a small village in the Granvert Forest. His father was a quite successful thief, and managed to make a nice living out of stealing from rich folk in big cities, mostly in Triskellian. Taryn's mother was a beautiful vixen, an attractive dancer, admired very much by most of the village folk.

Taryn was introduced to the art of stealing at a very early age, and because of his natural talents, he soon became a successful thief himself. Meeting the wrong folk, and being used by ruthless criminals who exploited his extraordinary skills, however, he was dragged deeper and deeper into a criminal career. One day, though, when he was taking part in his first major robbery with (of course with ruthless and violent criminals), he witnessed an innocent female young wild cat being raped and killed by two of the robbers - wolves, one of them being Akiron, a good friend of Taryn. Taryn tried to prevent it, but Akiron just laughed at him, hit the young fox with his claws, and managed to knock him unconscious. Taryn woke up, tied up in the woods, all alone and bleeding, a wound in his left shoulder, caused by sharp canine teeth, reminding him of what had happened.

After these events, Taryn realized that he was on the wrong lane. Stealing was one thing, but rape and murder was something different, something loathable, something he just had to stop. The image of the young wild cat being raped had burned deep wounds into his psyche, and Taryn vowed to bring those murdereres into jail for what they had done.

Using the skills and knowledge he had gathered during his career as a thief, the young fox became a successful bounty hunter, and turned against his former friends. Having been a lesser criminal himself, Taryn usually doesn't care about thieves and pickpockets, but is merciless with murderers, kidnappers and rapists.

Bad reputation

Taryn has an extraordinarily bad reputation among criminals, especially those who commit capital crimes - both for being a successful Boundy Hunter, and for being a bloody traitor.

Foe

The fox's former friend is now his worst foe: Akiron the wolf, a formidable fighter, physically superior to Taryn. In their youth, Akiron and Taryn both started as thieves, but while Taryn perfectionized his skills in stealing from rich folk, such a thing was soon not enough for Akiron. The wolf began to taste blood, and he liked it; he started to rape and murder. Akiron's first murder was the cause for his friendship with Taryn breaking apart, turning friends into enemies.

As Taryn changed sides, Akiron became one of his most vicious enemies. Taryn tried to arrest Akiron, and Akiron in turn tried to set traps for Taryn. Knowing the fox's flaws of having a weakness for females, Akiron, together with his brother, used a hired vixen to lure Taryn into a trap. However, the fox's sixth sense revealed that something was wrong - Taryn tried to escape in time, but was stopped by Akiron's brother, who of course tried to kill him. In an act of pure self-defence, and after a fierce fight, Taryn killed the wolf, and escaped before Akiron could intervene.

Since that time, Akiron is desperately trying to take revenge for the death of his brother.

Lustful

Taryn, as a handsome young fox, has a certain appeal to females of his race - a fact Taryn enjoys very much, and not always to his advantage, as his casual relationships with vixens occasionally bring him into trouble
