Twelve Paws

The secret organization of Twelve Paws is a powerful group of nobles of several houses and varying political backgrounds, well concealed by a webwork of legends, lies, and outright statistics. They have a history spanning back many centuries, representing a neverdying utopian ideal; a dream of interracial cooperation in order to obtain higher goals, be they religious or otherwise. Though the Paws don't command any physical force, they stand behind a considerable economical and political influence, working through these channels to attain their goals.

Various example of large-scale projects involving a multitude of races are directly or indirectly undertaken and supported by this organization. Many a preacher (ref: Tim) has started his journey with the blessings of the Paws. It is rumoured that the Twelve Paws are partially responsible for the success of S'Allumer, and it's true that large sums of money have changed hands during shady negotiations, but nothing has been or could be proven. The Twelve Paws continue to work in secrecy. Surely they are preaching for unity and understanding, but what could be their ulterior motive?

Tim (Going under the name Timothy D'Bug), a fox with a burning desire to achieve peace between the races, and with oratory skills paralleled by few. He's the official patron of a small cult called Togetherness, that's slowly spreading towards the middle parts of Calabria.

Rianna (of lower Avoirdupois noble heritage), crafty and adventurous lady, difficult to sway, and to her opponents, she can be quite a night-mare.

Celalta (lady of Yosh D'Avoirdupois), a very mysterious lady who is seldom seen. It is rumoured that she has connections with the supposedly deceased Lord Osedd of Bisclavret, but nobody knows anything for sure.

Sub-groups and affiliated

The Equivalists represent an extreme fringe group who not only believe that members of all races have the same worth, but also that they are equal, only spread apart by unfortunte circumstances, war and evil magic. It is the goal of the equivalists to find the original race from which all other races have originated. The Twelve Paws have repeatedly used the public services of the Equivalists. (more...)

Light's Shadow This offshoot group of the S'Allumer church has specialized in bringing the divine light to places where otherwise darkness rules. The Paws have good connections with the leaders of this group, and they have fought side by side during some of the most dangerous enterprises in the Paws' long history. (more...)

Togetherness This is Tim's little private experiment. His cult is trying to establish Calabria-wide love and understanding in a totally peaceful way, by just spreading the good message and showing a good example. While the Paws don't have high hopes for this innocent offspring, they give them support in secret.

Enemies

Officially, this group simply doesn't exist, but at the occasions where its existence has been revealed, the Twelve Paws have met vehement restistance from nationalistic, conservative and noble factions, all of which feel threatened by the dangerously radical philosophy of the Paws.

Most of all, the Army of Purity is the sworn enemy of the Twelve Paws. The leaders of the Army have offered a standing reward for anyone who can capture or leave information that can lead to the capture of a member of the "filthy, mangy, unclean Twelve Paws who embrace the unworthy dregs of Calabria".
